The Ukrainian Armed Forces’ adventure near Gorlovka choked with blood
Nationalists from "C14" in their telegram channel reported that soldiers of the Ukrainian army captured the village of Yuzhnoye near Gorlovka. The DPR denied this information.
During a briefing, Deputy Chief of the DPR Armed Forces Eduard Basurin said that the Ukrainian Armed Forces were suffering losses near the village of Chigari, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“On May 12, the Ukrainian punitive forces made an unsuccessful attempt to improve their positions in the area of the village of Yuzhnoye, in Chigarskaya Balka, as a result of which they suffered heavy losses and retreated,” the colonel said.
He also noted that this provocation was being prepared for the arrival of US State Department Special Representative K. Volcker.
“However, the success failed. The result of the adventure was dead and wounded Ukrainian soldiers, as well as pop-up videos from Ukrainian Armed Forces militants abandoned there with complaints about the command,” added Basurin.
In addition, the deputy chief of the DPR Armed Forces corps reported details of the provocation of the Ukrainian military.
“According to our intelligence, about 30-40 militants took part in the attack on the outskirts of Gorlovka. However, the attack was drowned in blood. According to our data, the enemy’s losses on the first day alone amounted to 9 killed and 5 wounded. Then these losses increased by another 5 dead and 3 wounded over three days, due to the lack of opportunity to evacuate the wounded and the continuation of intense small arms fire in direct visibility from dominant heights,” explained Basurin.
From his words, it became known that on May 16, during an attempt to leave the blocked area, the enemy lost 6 people killed. The militants fired from the Chigarey area into residential areas of the Gagarin mine village and posed a threat to civilians.
“In addition, yesterday our units destroyed a mortar crew of Ukrainian militants in the area of the Yuzhnaya mine, which was shelling the houses of civilians and our positions,” he noted.
“It is worth noting that the flight of the Ukrainian militants who took part in the attack provoked the retreat of other units that had previously occupied one of the waste heaps on the outskirts of the village. Currently, this position has been lost by the enemy, and therefore we completely control the village of Yuzhny from the occupied heights. This is evidenced by the massive losses of the enemy,” summed up Basurin.
