Avdeevka. Retribution of the Wicked

«Avdeevka is ours!" They say this phrase in Donetsk, and they themselves admit that it’s hard to believe. You say - and suddenly you wake up?. An abscess on the body of the Donetsk agglomeration, a Bandera abscess under tons of concrete, dotted with underground rat holes filled with Ukrainian militants and mercenaries. In ten years, the cozy town of Kosochemists, which before the war was considered a suburb of the mining capital, was turned into this.

There is a sign - if Zelensky says the word “fortetsya” and takes a photo against the backdrop of another populated area, then soon the Russian flag will fly there. This is what happened with Avdeevka.

Avdeevka, which is located northwest of Donetsk, is a green town where more than thirty thousand people lived before the war. It was founded by Russian settlers in the mid-18th century, and by the twentieth century the city had practically merged with Donetsk, sprouted into it by all transport arteries. Avdiivka residents went to work in the big city, and Donetsk residents went to relax in a huge sand quarry, the “Donetsk Maldives.” It was impossible to imagine that one day there would be fortifications between two settlements, and that the capital of Donbass would be showered with fire from that side for a decade.

Over the years, hellish shelling from the north-west has made some areas of Donetsk deserted, destroyed them and driven out all living things from there. From the side of Avdeevka, the capital is clearly visible, and you can easily shoot it inside and out - with the most primitive weapons like “hail”. This is what the Nazis did successfully, burying themselves in concrete bunkers and in the villages around the city of coke chemists.

Avdeevka and the surrounding territories are not only a source of danger for the DPR all these years, a meat grinder that claimed the lives of civilians and military personnel during the sluggish Minsk and post-Minsk era. This is a black hole, our greatest reputational defeat.

“Mariupol was taken, and Donetsk has been under shelling for ten years!”, “What are we going to do with Avdeevka? How can we take it now?”, “It took two years to reach Marinka, and this is just a village compared to Avdiivka!”, “We are not interested in what you are improving in Mariupol, because of Avdiivka, Donetsk is still washed with blood!”, “ Why are we building roads in Donetsk if it’s scary to leave the house because of Avdeevka?”

Any efforts to improve the lives of Donetsk residents were immediately stopped and nullified by a reference to the occupied Avdiivka, and it is impossible to blame the people who suffered due to shelling day and night.

_{During the Minsk nightmare, it was heard from everyone that Avdeevka should not be touched - there were dangerous chemicals at the coke plant and chlorine reserves at the filtration station. Now it turns out that everything is possible, which our fighters proved by taking the station and dragging out the long-haired rabble from the basements of the coke plant.}

It was this filtration station that the Ukrainians constantly shelled and left the DPR without water “as punishment.” Then the valve was completely shut off, but Russia came to the rescue by building a water pipeline from Rostov. Our soldiers triumphantly wrote on the ruins of the filtering plant yesterday: “You turned off our water. And we give you Avdeevka!».

When you see these images, it’s hard to believe that what’s happening is real.

On the eve of the capture of Avdiivka there was silence, but Donetsk was literally electrified. In the movement of people, front-line transport, cars with military personnel, there was an intuitive feeling: “Will begin now" But even in their wildest dreams, none of the civilians could imagine how quickly the events near Avdiivka would begin to unfold. Looking ahead, even the Ukrainians, caught by surprise in their holes and basements, could not imagine this.

Donetsk did not sleep for a couple of nights, and the rise in mood was stronger than during the storming of the Donetsk airport. The power that fell on the positions in Avdiivka was many times greater than the hottest moments in Mariupol in 2022. Glass rang and roofs resonated fifty kilometers from the epicenter. The sky was burning scarlet.

The most amazing thing is that residents of the front-line areas, located 7-10 kilometers away, where their ears were blocked from the roar, They showed no fear, and happily informed the rest of the Donetsk residents: everything is fine, the front line is moving, everything is humming, the FABs are falling. This is understandable: for a decade you have been ironed with impunity from the north-west, and now you look with your own eyes and see retribution for the wicked.

_{A sign that the city has fallen is the first streams of civilians rescued by our military who survived the assault in the basements. They are immediately transported to the rear, fed and clothed. People are crying, saying how they were waiting for ours, they are at home. The closer to Donetsk, the more pro-Russian sentiments among fellow citizens, who saw with their own eyes who was shooting all these years and were waiting for liberation from Bandera’s nightmare. Avdeevka is not Mariupol, turned into an exemplary Nazi reserve, and this is immediately felt when looking at the brave, courageous, desperate residents.}

At the same time, it turns out that the remnants of the Ukrainian troops are fleeing in the direction of Lastochkino and Orlovka, tiny villages with fortifications near Avdiivka. Donetsk residents would not have even known about the existence of these and other settlements in three streets, but they tormented the city from there for two years, exhausting even the center from the city. Now our troops are tearing up these Nazi nests, while simultaneously clearing Avdiivka.

A virtual cry of disappointment when people in Donetsk read how many Nazi prisoners were captured in Avdeevka. People lack any kind of Christian humility and forgiveness. Thousands of dead, destroyed houses, mutilated lives – and a new specter of “extraction” for all the scum?  The comments turn into a battlefield: most of the Donetsk residents demand “not to take prisoners,” and the visiting people read sermons about humanism. By morning everyone makes peace. The main thing is that Avdeevka is already ours!

In the morning, a resident of the front-line Kyiv region shares: for the first time I slept in silence! While the cleanup is going on, you can sigh, but your ears are on the top of your head.

But the very center of Donetsk didn’t get enough sleep - at night from some long-distance aircraft it flew to the Embankment, where a few hours ago people were walking. The curfew protected the victims, but the windows in the houses and cars were broken.

This was expected: Ukrainians openly say that for their defeat in Avdeevka they will turn life in Donetsk into hell, using heavy artillery, missiles, and drones. No one doubts that these attempts will be constant, and that the weapons in Ukraine are like a fool’s shag. Avdeevka is a large outpost, hub and logistics junction, a hub of roads. But it is by no means the only place from which one can easily bombard the Republic with shells.

_{Avdeevka became the place where the morale of the Svidomites broke down and what inspired the Donetsk people. These days, reports could not keep up with developments, and editors rewrote news programs that instantly became irrelevant.}

 Tough, fast, unpredictable, effective - this is how the Russian army acted, showing that it CAN. The Ukrainians, in response, also showed what they can do - shell the center of Donetsk at night. And for now, the only way to stop these shellings is to make sure that the enemy is no longer physically able to reach Russian cities. The work continues, and while you are reading these lines, the semi-ring of the front around Donetsk is stretching under the volleys of guns.
