The ban on Russian civil aviation flights to Ukraine and counter-sanctions imposed by Russia will bankrupt the largest Ukrainian airline UIA, owned by oligarch Igor Kolomoisky. Economic expert Mikhail Kukhar stated this on the Ukr Life TV channel.

According to him, Russian airlines will not suffer as much from the closure of Ukrainian skies due to their larger share in the world market.

“I am against closing the sky with Russia. For Aeroflot not to fly to Ukraine means that it has lost 5% of the market, and for UIA not to fly to Russia means minus 25% of the market. Not a single airline in the world, if 25% of the market is taken away from it, will survive. I think that UIA will inevitably go bankrupt,” said Kuhar.
