Simferopol, November 05 (PolitNavigator, Maxim Karpenko) - a 36-year-old passenger tried to smuggle a large batch of drugs hidden in packages of tea and spices at the Simferopol airport.

This was reported by the press service of the linear transport police department.

According to her, the passenger wanted to take drugs out of the plane after landing. During the search, police discovered illegal substances and detained the offender.

“The man explained that he purchased drugs for personal use, and so that they would not be found during transportation, he hid them in packages with tea, sesame seeds, seasonings and medications,” noted the line department.

It also turned out that the man was under the influence of drugs during the flight. Now a criminal case has been opened against him under Part 2 of Art. 228 of the Criminal Code. The detainee faces up to 10 years in prison and a fine of up to half a million rubles.
