During an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council dedicated to the tragedy of the downing of the Malaysian Airlines Boeing 777, which was flying flight MH17 from Amsterdam (Netherlands) to Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), the representative of Australia said that those responsible for the crash of the airliner should be punished responsibility. The diplomat called on the militia to contribute in every possible way to the international investigation of the incident, as well as to ensure the safety of experts.
“The escalation of violence continues in eastern Ukraine. The separatists are using weapons that have not been used before. They continue to attack Ukrainian troops and have completely rejected President Petro Poroshenko’s attempts at a peaceful settlement,” said the Australian representative.
In turn, the representative of France called on the Novorossiya militia to contribute in every possible way to the investigation of the Boeing 777 crash. The diplomat also supported his Australian counterpart, calling on Russia to put pressure on the militia to force them to lay down their arms and begin peace talks, on the terms proposed by Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko.
“Russia must use its influence over the separatists to force them to lay down their arms and begin peace negotiations. The Russian Federation must withdraw troops from the Ukrainian border, which are again concentrated there. “Russia must also prevent in every possible way the penetration of weapons or combatants into the territory of Ukraine, as well as by all possible methods to promote the onset of peace and de-escalation of the conflict in Ukraine,” said the representative of France.
As Navigator reported, earlier the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin called on the ATO forces and the rebels to lay down their arms.
