Austrian investor: I don’t want to do anything else in Ukraine
Austrian edition of Kleinezeitung published interview with investor of the Kharkov Tractor Plant Siegfried Wolf. “I don’t understand what’s happening, why three thousand people at a successful enterprise, which regularly paid all taxes to the state treasury, were kicked out onto the street,” he says.

The ideologically motivated decision of the authorities to stop the work of a successful enterprise, whose investors are the Ukrainian oligarch Alexander Yaroslavsky and a German who invests not only in Ukraine, but also in Russia, and, in addition, sold KhTZ products to Russia, caused bewilderment in Siegfried Wolf.
“Five years ago the company needed a boost because it was falling apart. We have introduced new technologies, production concepts, and quality control systems. It took four years before the enterprise became profitable. From this profit, which we do not hide, we paid all taxes. And one fine day, three thousand factory workers were not allowed into their workplace. I don’t understand,” he throws up his hands.
“As for the accusations of offshore transactions, they are completely unfounded. After all, conditions were created under which it became unprofitable to use offshore companies. I wanted to play by the rules in a good, honest German style, but this was taken as an opportunity to start playing games with me,” says the investor.
“In my public speeches, I carefully avoid even a hint of politics. Business is business and its essence is to find the best offer. That’s what I did,” he says.
“As for the question of returning my investments, I don’t want to do anything else in Ukraine at all. “First of all, I am very upset that the two fraternal peoples do not see any way for reconciliation.” – the Austrian stated bitterly.
