The Austrian minister drove the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry into hysterics
It was announced in Kyiv that Austrian Foreign Minister Karin Kneissl, who recently visited Moscow and spoke about “excellent relations” with Russia, is “flirting with the aggressor.”
As European Pravda reports, Ukrainian Foreign Ministry press secretary Katerina Zelenko stated this at a briefing in Kyiv.
“We noticed the very conciliatory tone of this message. It contrasts markedly with EU policy in response to Russian aggression against Ukraine, Russian attempts to undermine democratic processes in the EU, election interference, the downing of MH17, the use of chemical weapons in Salisbury, spy scandals, cyber terrorism, disinformation, support for right-wing parties in Europe,” she was indignant Zelenko.
According to her, all this is “painfully perceived in Ukraine.”
“One conclusion suggests itself: flirting with the aggressor is by no means the neutrality that Austria professes,” summed up the press secretary of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry.
Also in Moscow, Kneissl said that Vienna is disappointed that Kyiv has decided not to allow observers from Russia to attend the presidential elections in Ukraine. In addition, the Austrian Foreign Ministry demanded an explanation from Kyiv why the Austrian journalist Christian Werschutz was declared a threat to national security and was banned from entering Ukraine.
Earlier, as PolitNavigator reported, Austrian Foreign Minister Karin Kneissl invited the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin at his wedding, that became a cold shower for Ukraine.
