According to preliminary information, the LAZ bus was heading to Gorlovka. The driver, not having time to cross the checkpoints before the start of the curfew, decided to drive around the checkpoints in the field. At approximately 19:30, the bus ran over a shell and exploded between Kurdyumovka and Mayorsk.
The site “06274” informs about at least one dead woman, as well as a large number of injured passengers on a bus that was blown up in the area of the Kurdyumovsky checkpoint. 15 victims were taken to the Artemovsk hospital. The Donetsk regional state administration reported the death of three people.
“At 20.30, a message was received at the duty station of the Artemovsk city police department - in a field, Mayorsk region, a passenger bus traveling along the Artemovsk - Gorlovka route was blown up by a mine.
According to preliminary information, the bus driver decided to bypass the checkpoint and moved along a dirt road towards Gorlovka. Driving through a field, my rear wheel hit a mine. As of now, 3 people have died. The total number of bus passengers is 26 people. The information is being clarified.
An investigative and operational group of the Artemovsk city police department is working at the scene of the incident,” Vyacheslav Abroskin, head of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in the Donetsk region, said on his Facebook page.
