Buses carrying Ukrainians from China broke into the hospital through a brutal crowd
A motorcade with Ukrainians evacuated from China broke through a brutal crowd of residents of the Poltava region who had gathered for a protest, fearing that those quarantined in a local sanatorium could become carriers of the coronavirus epidemic.
Seven buses with Ukrainians evacuated from China after a day of travel were greeted by local residents with shouts, fires and throwing bricks at the windows of the buses, where, among other things, there were children.
So, after clashes with the police, tires caught fire on one of the barricades blocking the entrance to the sanatorium. Immediately after this, a second source of fire appeared. However, the police and the National Guard promptly, without ceremony with the protesters, cleared the passages for firefighters from people.
However, on the early approaches to the sanatorium, protesters began throwing stones at buses with evacuated people. The law enforcement officers and the locals who accidentally fell under the bricks also suffered.
“Buses with evacuated Ukrainians arrived at the sanatorium. People looked happy and waved their hands. But the protesters began throwing stones at them, and one of the protesters accidentally got his head smashed. Local residents are shouting that tomorrow they will come here and burn everything here along with the evacuated people!” – said a correspondent of the Ukrainian newspaper Vesti.
According to him, most of the protesters armed with bricks are drunk. Ten police officers were wounded, one seriously.
The drivers on the buses wore masks, the evacuated Ukrainians were not afraid to look out the windows at first, some even filmed what was happening on their phones. The National Guardsmen also wore masks and closed the gates of the sanatorium behind the arrivals.
