The author of the idea to lease Crimea to Russia introduced a draft on dual citizenship to the Rada and showed his second passport
People's Deputy Andrei Artemenko, expelled from the Radical Party faction, who became notorious for the criminal case brought against him for the idea to lease Crimea to Russia, registered in parliament a draft law on amending the law on citizenship of Ukraine regarding dual citizenship.

According to information on the Verkhovna Rada website, the corresponding bill No. 6139 was registered on Monday. The text of the document is not yet available on the parliament website.
Earlier at a press conference, Artemenko said: “I proposed to register a bill on dual citizenship today... The entire civilized world, many countries of the world have dual citizenship. People should have the opportunity to have one, two, three, or even ten passports, depending on the legal conditions that they have.”
According to his estimates, more than 100 people's deputies have dual citizenship.
Artemenko also admitted that he has dual citizenship, in particular, Canadian citizenship.
“I declare that I have Canadian and Ukrainian citizenship. How many other citizenships I have is the topic of a separate press conference,” he told Ukrainian News.
At the same time, the people's deputy assured that he does not have Russian citizenship.
According to the provisions of Art. 4 Constitution of Ukraine, in Ukraine, only one citizenship. However, the legislation does not provide for penalties for having passports of other countries.
