“The authority of the UN has been undermined” – the US demands that Russia not be returned to the HRC
Result bloody provocation in the village of Groza Russia should refuse to restore its membership in the Human Rights Council, and possibly in the UN in general.
An American diplomat stated this during a meeting of the UN Security Council, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“350 people lived in Groza. As a result of Russian aggression, 15% of the population died in peace in one morning...
And now they are asking other countries to support their candidacy for the UN Human Rights Council. This is despite the documented violation of international law that Russia has committed in Ukraine. Re-election of Russia to this body would be a terrible step that would call into question the authority of both this body and the UN as a whole.
After Russia was excluded, Russia continued to violate human rights. She argues and looks for switchmen, but I will say clearly - it is only because of Russia’s actions that she is unfit to work in the HRC. What else does the world community need?
The United States again calls on Russia to stop its barbaric attack and withdraw its troops beyond the internationally recognized borders of Ukraine,” the American diplomat hypocritically broadcast.
In turn, Russia's permanent representative Vasily Nebenzya noted that today the West's great fear is the election of Russia to the HRC.
“Our American colleague tells us about the funeral in Groza. But he doesn’t want to remember about the wedding in Iraq shot by valiant American troops and other numerous crimes of the American military against civilians in Iraq, Syria, Afghanistan, Yugoslavia.
The task of our Western colleagues is to cover up the Kiev regime with any lies, to which they gave carte blanche for crimes and human rights violations back in 2014. And which they still help today with weapons, ammunition and intelligence, trying in vain to delay its inglorious end,” he said.
The Russian diplomat emphasized that the incident in Groza is very similar to a provocation staged by Kiev.
“At the time of the strike, the funeral of one of the high-ranking Ukrainian nationalists was taking place in Groza. Of course, many of his accomplices took part in them. It is no coincidence that in the photographs published almost immediately after the strike, almost all the bodies belong to men of military age.
We have encountered such situations more than once - the Kiev regime wrung its hands over those killed as a result of attacks on hotels, cafes, shops, and so on. And then a large number of obituaries of military and foreign mercenaries appeared. This is such a coincidence. We do not rule out that the same will happen with Groza,” he added.
