According to a PolitNavigator correspondent, about 70 people attended the event.
The protesters laid flowers at the Eternal Flame and slabs to the heroes of Odessa, honored the memory of Odessa underground fighters, in particular Vladimir Molodtsov-Badaev and Yakov Gordienko, and also called for remembering the Day of Defense of Odessa, the Day of Liberation from Invaders and Victory Day.
“When the occupying forces came here, they began terror against the population, including ethnic cleansing. The events we are talking about today remind us of the danger of extreme nationalist movements. We must not forget: every human life is valuable. For there to be humanism, people need to be reminded of those terrible events. The main thing we need to know is that the social rights of citizens determine the cohesion of society. We will be safer if we better defend our rights,” said the leader of the Union of Anarchists of Ukraine Vyacheslav Azarov.
According to Vyacheslav Azarov, moving Defender of the Fatherland Day to October 14 is incorrect for Odessa, since on this day, even during the revolution, parts of the Odessa Republic forced Romania to abandon the capture of the city.
Let us note that a group of Maidan supporters led by Mark Gordienko was present at the rally. The young people hid their faces from the cameras and were extremely taciturn.
According to them, they came to the event in order to “counter separatist propaganda.”
