Azerbaijan will not be able to recapture Karabakh
Experts are convinced that Baku’s goal during the current escalation in Karabakh is to seize small but strategically important territories.

In turn, former Armenian Defense Minister Vagharshak Harutyunyan noted in a comment to the newspaper that the Azerbaijani offensive was carried out in three directions.
“The operation was based on surprise with the further massive use of armored vehicles, artillery and other types of troops. But the Azerbaijanis failed to achieve success, and today there are positional battles,” says Harutyunyan.
At the same time, Baku comes from the opposite point of view - that the aggravation began due to an Armenian “provocation.” Thus, Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan Hikmet Hajiyev told the publication that the real goal of Baku’s “counter-offensive” is “forcing Armenia to peace” and “ensuring the safety of the civilian population.”
