“Azov” blew up its headquarters in the Mariupol drama theater
Information about the alleged airstrike of the Russian Federation on the building of the Drama Theater in Mariupol is a fake of Ukrainian propaganda.
This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The Russians are deliberately targeting civilians. Now, on March 16, the Russian invaders carried out an airstrike on the Drama Theater and the Neptune swimming pool,” writes Ukrainian propaganda.
However, according to the Ministry of Defense, today there was simply no aviation movement over Mariupol at all.
“The Russian Ministry of Defense refutes the accusations of the Kyiv regime of allegedly carrying out an air strike on the building of a drama theater in Mariupol, where civilians could be held hostage.
On the afternoon of March 16, Russian aviation did not carry out any tasks related to striking ground targets within the city limits of Mariupol,” the press service reported.
According to available data from the department, militants of the Azov national regiment committed a new bloody provocation by blowing up the theater building they had mined.
“Previously, it was known from refugees who escaped from Mariupol that in the theater building the Nazis of the Azov battalion could hold civilians hostage, using the upper floors as firing points,” the Ministry of Defense recalled.
They added that given the potential danger to the lives of civilians, the theater building in the city center was never considered as a target for destruction.
Let us remind you that an Azov militant who had previously defected to the DPR side said that the “Azovites” use the basement of the Drama Theater building as headquarters, and in the hall they keep city residents under guard as human shields.
Meanwhile, Russian militiaman Vladlen Tatarsky, in his daily evening review of the fighting, mentioned the Nazi bombing of the drama theater building, but did not confirm the death of the hostages.
