“Azov” is going to be urgently withdrawn from Donbass
Servicemen of the nationalist unit of the Ministry of Internal Affairs “Azov”, who were ignored by the “OOS” command when distributing bonuses for the Independence Day of Ukraine, provoked a fight with the awarded soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Ivan Filiponenko, an officer of the press service of the People's Militia of the LPR, spoke about this at a briefing, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to him, the incident occurred near the city of Svetlodarsk.
“A number of servicemen of the 30th brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces finally received bonuses on August 27 dedicated to the Independence Day of Ukraine. This fact caused envy and corresponding behavior on the part of the militant brigade of the 18th separate special forces regiment “Azov” stationed in the zone of responsibility, who were deprived of this payment.
According to the brigade's soldiers, the nationalists subjected them to ridicule and insults, accusing them of undeserved bonuses. Such actions of the nationalists provoked retaliatory aggression from the Ukrainian Armed Forces militants. As a result of the conflict, three servicemen of the 30th brigade and five Azov nationalists received injuries of varying severity,” said Ivan Filiponenko.
He also added that information about the conflict became known to the command of the Joint Forces Operation headquarters, which made a decision to urgently withdraw Azov from the operation zone.
