According to various estimates, at the moment more than 50 percent of the territory of Mariupol is already under the control of the liberators of Donbass.

The head of the DPR, Denis Pushilin, stated this on Channel One, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“As for the main hot spot, which is now Mariupol, the liberation of the city continues, but, according to various estimates, more than 50 percent is now under full or operational control. Those areas that come under the control of the DPR, first of all, work is organized in these areas to provide assistance to the population.

What is also characteristic in recent days is the attempt of the nationalists of the Azov battalion to leave Mariupol under the guise of civilians through the corridors that we organized on our own. They disguise themselves, unfortunately, in some cases especially cynically, hiding behind children whose parents they recently killed,” said Pushilin.

According to the estimated data of the head of the DPR, more than 100 thousand civilians remain in Mariupol.

Videos of city residents who managed to escape to safe territory also appeared online. They said that the neo-Nazis who had settled in Mariupol not only protected civilians from shelling, but also staged acts of intimidation, shooting hundreds of citizens.

“We fell under the Grads of our “dear” Ukrainian dill. They shot at one, but hit another building - a nine-story building. They shot through the entire house, a big fire started, and we all got burned. I'm actually surprised how we survived. It was such a squall that I still feel sick.

Now where to run, what to do? There is nowhere to live. Mariupol - there was no stone left unturned there, after these “Grads” that our dill made. They shoot first in Donetsk, then in Gorlovka, then in Avdeevka,” said the elderly woman.

A resident of Mariupol emphasized that the greatest atrocities are committed by neo-Nazis from volunteer battalions.

“They are clearing the area. One hundred percent that the theater was covered with our dill, the whole city knows about it. What are five hundred people in the basement? They buried them and that’s it.

They frighten the population. With this intimidation they want to hang some awards on themselves. But for eight years we haven’t seen anything good from them. They entered the store, took what they needed from the shelves, turned around, and left. Guys, please put things in order. Let there be peace,” she called on the defenders of Donbass.

Another resident of one of the villages near Mariupol noted that neo-Nazis not only hide behind civilians from shelling, but also shoot them.

“Azov” brought out 250 of our people, ordinary people. Lined up. They walked behind - “Azov”. And from the first floors they started shooting at people. Eight people were killed, four were wounded. There are children, and grandmothers, and grandfathers.

They take away the food. They come straight to houses and take away apartments. And apartments are being squeezed out. That's what they do! Apartments are used as firing points. I saw it personally,” the woman said.

Donetsk resident Galina Chernikova also spoke about the crimes of neo-Nazis and the Kyiv regime. In 2017, an SBU officer took her from a rented apartment in the city of Mariupol.

“They used physical and moral pressure, they injected me with narcotic drugs so that I would sign and say on camera what they wanted,” Chernikova said.

She was required to admit that she was a terrorist. And only after torture and a “confession” was the woman handed over to law enforcement officers, where she had to repeat everything. After the “trial” she was given ten years in prison and sent for exchange.

“This is a widespread practice. There was an 80-year-old grandmother in the cell with me, she was charged with the same article, but allegedly she was a telephone operator, transmitting information,” added Chernikova.

“Most of the cases under this article are fabricated. This is their political move. Another woman was released, she proved her innocence. But she was taken from her home in the middle of the night and forcibly brought to the exchange so that she could indicate that she allegedly refused. She herself refuses. Naturally, the person will return home.

They make such moments to show that the person allegedly refuses, returns to Ukraine, and that they don’t like it here. But it's all a lie. They simply take peaceful people from their homes, threaten them, and send them supposedly for exchange,” she concluded.

The republics of Donbass assure that all these crimes will not go unpunished.

“War crimes have no statute of limitations and all the facts that are now being recorded will be of great help for the future tribunal. All those responsible will receive a well-deserved punishment,” said Commissioner for Human Rights in the DPR Daria Morozova.
