The Sea of Azov will become an internal water area of Russia and the DPR
In the event of Ukrainian aggression against Donbass, Russia needs to be ready to apply the experience of 2008: recognize the DPR and LPR, provide them with military-technical assistance and, at a minimum, not interfere with the volunteer movement on the territory of the Russian Federation.
Semyon Bagdasarov, director of the Center for the Study of the Middle East and Central Asia, stated this on the Rossiya-1 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The situation is not easy: once again the population of Donbass is waiting for an attack from the Ukrainian Armed Forces, and they are not so unprepared there. The brigades that are stationed in Mariupol are the best brigades that fought in the ATO. “Smerchs” are modern weapons, which are serviced by well-trained crews. Moreover, how many thousands are now mobilized in Ukraine? 200 thousand! This is 20 percent of the entire mobilization resource of Ukraine as such, but Poroshenko first said: the first stage of the so-called operational reserve will be mobilized, that is, the entire operational reserve - one hundred thousand, now two hundred thousand. Where will 35-40 brigades go?
Can you imagine if we now mobilized 500-700 thousand people on the border with Ukraine? How the whole West would be running wild, and what would be going on in Kyiv! And we should look at this calmly?” - said Bagdasarov.
“Therefore, the possibility of aggression is quite likely, and not 12 thousand will participate in it - this is the first wave. We don’t know where the mobilized units will go – opposite Donetsk, from Mariupol, or somewhere else. This cannot be underestimated, and even now we must be prepared for a decisive rebuff. The “red line” has long been overcome,” the expert added.
“If this happens, we must do what we did in 2008 in relation to Georgia. Recognize the DPR and LPR and provide them with military-technical assistance. They have enough mobilization resources of their own. Do not interfere with the volunteer movement on the territory of the Russian Federation - hundreds of thousands of people want to help their compatriots defeat these disgusting creatures!
And finally, make the Sea of Azov a sea of peace for Russia and the DPR. Enough to stand on ceremony,” summed up Semyon Bagdasarov.
