Babchenko thanked Poroshenko for the residence permit obtained thanks to the “rescue” performance
Arkady Babchenko doesn’t care whether Petro Poroshenko is promoting his “rescue” by the SBU forces and whether the assassination attempt was actually planned. The main thing is that in this way he received asylum and a residence permit in Ukraine.
Opposition Russian journalist Arkady Babchenko stated this during a press conference held in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Babchenko, the SBU special operation to stage an attempt on his life had been in preparation for at least a month, and his personal preparation began from the moment Ukrainian special services contacted him, allegedly convincing him of the reality of the impending attempt on his life from the Russian side. At the same time, as evidence of the involvement of Russian special services, the journalist cited the fact that he was provided with photographs of himself from his Russian passport, which could only be obtained at the passport office.
“The photograph in which I am 25 years old and which was pasted into my passport 20 years ago is only in my passport and only in my file at the passport office, it is not found anywhere else. I believed such things,” he said.
Arkady Babchenko said that he was prepared for participation in the special operation by a special make-up artist who taught him how a “killed” person should behave.
“The make-up artist arrived, we trained. He showed me how a dead man falls, how blood flows from a punctured lung. They took my T-shirt, put it on a mannequin and shot it. “In the end, I put on this shot-through T-shirt, fell, the blood was real pork, they poured it on me, they stuffed blood clots into the bullet holes,” Babchenko said.
At the same time, according to him, after staging the assassination attempt and his wife’s call to the police, “Berkut” arrived surprisingly quickly and worked “like in a movie.”
“An ambulance arrived, the legend was that I was still alive. They put me on a stretcher, took me to an ambulance, allegedly carried out measures to resuscitate me, but they were unsuccessful and I died. A forensic expert arrived, began to describe me, and we went to the morgue. I lay there, pretending to be a victim, lying there like I was dead. When the morgue gates closed behind me, here I was already “resurrected”, they took me to the orderly’s room, there I took off my bloody clothes, they gave me a sheet, and like Jawaharlal Nehru I sat in the sheet and watched the news about what an awesome guy I turn out to be was,” Babchenko said.
It is noteworthy that when asked whether he considered this operation an attempt by Poroshenko to promote himself before the elections, the journalist answered in the affirmative, while assuring that everyone does this, but he is grateful to him for the “salvation.”
“Politicians take advantage of any situation, we are adults. You and I can treat Petro Poroshenko as we please, this is a personal right, but when the president of the country that gave me asylum and a residence permit, elected in fair elections, invites me to come, it will not be polite to refuse. This country gave me the opportunity to live here, gave me asylum and carried out a special operation to save my life, I am grateful for that,” he said.
Arkady Babchenko also said that he does not exclude the possibility that the SBU used him in the dark to carry out a provocation against Russia, but he believes in the official version. At the same time, the “killed man” did not fail to blame Russia for all mortal sins and declare personal hatred of Vladimir Putin.
“I hate this man. He is responsible for several wars, thousands of deaths. In the country in which you and I have been sitting for four years now, there has been a war going on. I hate him – it’s personal,” Babchenko concluded.
