Tymoshenko's grandmothers besieged Poroshenko's residence
A rally was held at the administration of the President of Ukraine, organized by the Batkivshchyna party and dedicated to the next increase in gas tariffs for the population in accordance with agreements with the IMF, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Deputies and activists in their speeches criticized the increase in tariffs and spoke about the impoverishment of the population of Ukraine as a result of the policies of the current government.
“Previously, every citizen could go and pay from their income without any subsidies, and people paid in advance. 100 percent were payments for housing and communal services. And now? Now we have debts of about 30 billion for payment, because the last thing was taken away from people and they are unable to pay their tariffs. Therefore, these tariffs are unaffordable for people,” said Verkhovna Rada deputy Ivan Krulko.
“I was killed by the story before September 1, when I saw an advertisement: banks started the program “Get your child ready for school on credit.” Can you imagine the state to which Ukrainian young families have been reduced? These are young families with children who go to school. Now, in order to buy a child a backpack, a pen and a notebook, you need to take out a bank loan! To buy shoes for your child for school, you need to take out a loan from the bank! Can you imagine what this gang has brought to a Ukrainian citizen?” Krulko was indignant.
The rally gathered several hundred people, mostly elderly. Participants in the action held Batkivshchyna flags and posters with the words “Let’s say no to increasing gas tariffs for the population.” No one can get away with this crime”, “May you live on one salary!”, “0% rating after increasing gas prices!”, “We demand that the president cancel the shameful decision of the Cabinet of Ministers to increase gas prices!” and so on.
