The editors join in with our best wishes; journalists will continue to monitor the most important events over the weekend.

...Grebenshchikov changes words in songs just like that or depending on the situation (select the desired option). Once upon a time he sang “An era is burning out with an antique pyre,” but then he began to sing “An era is burning out with a funeral pyre.” And now the first word in the same line has been completely replaced by “partisan.” It’s like, for myself, back in school, I changed “train on fire” to “Boeing in the window”, and everything immediately fell into place.

Something similar to the stages of awareness of a catastrophe: denial, bargaining, acceptance. But in Grebenshchikov’s way it comes out closer, if we talk about today’s situation.

For three decades we have been hearing that the common Motherland that was taken away from us, the USSR, is still an antique. You can buy a Soviet chandelier on a special website or take the stupid test “Guess the heroes of Soviet comedies.” And you just can’t wake up in this country, at home.

The best of the representatives of the “antique” era died out and were buried, taking with them to the grave, it seemed, not even a material feeling of comradeship.

However, you and I are still breathing, which means the fire in our hearts is still partisan, right? In my case, that's true!

So, we partisans made it through another year.

Especially for those who, due to mental errors, did not understand what time we live in, the series “The Squid Game” was even filmed. The emotional part mourned for those who had passed away from Covid, the thinking part was in thoughts: “Where are we going?” and realized that the relatively peaceful transition from 21 to 22 was not really our merit.

The past year will be remembered for the confrontation between Ukraine and Russia (senkyu, cap!). Not the other way around. When Putin, who was broadcasting to a wide audience and therefore forced to utter truisms, spoke about fraternal peoples, Ukraine refuted these very truths - the Earth is flat, so the laying of anti-tank hedgehogs on the coasts to repel enemy aggression began even before the ice melted. And, naturally, before the postulate of the President of the Russian Federation about historical unity. And it ended with global mobilization, the collection of garbage from all over the world with the aim of transmuting it into military power, as well as military registration for women. Even pregnant women.

It is clear that against such a background, the lamentations of Russian liberals about “total control” and “concentration camps” were perceived, to put it mildly, with skepticism - ah-ah-ah, they wanted to vaccinate! I wanted to suggest - let’s go to Ukraine, either vaccinated or unvaccinated. And then... As a result of your one stay in Ukraine, you will never pay for gas for the rest of your life and will instantly lose everything for one word in Russian (this also applies to Belarusians revolutionizing from bushes and windows in front of children’s eyes).

Sometimes it seems to me that Ukraine was invented solely to show the indignant citizens of Russia how it happens. To do this, you don’t even need to put it in a corner and smear mustard on the pacifier - look at it for yourself (not necessarily Solovyov) and draw conclusions.

However, about the positive - it’s still a new year. My positive attitude is poor due to my forced Ukrainian citizenship and geography of residence. But I did see it. And this is a bill submitted to the State Duma recognizing the collapse of the USSR as the main geopolitical catastrophe of the XNUMXth century. This gives hope that things will come to gathering the disintegrated lands. Let's raise a glass to this! Happy New Year, readers! Stay with PolitNavigator, stay with us!

You don't know how lucky you are, boy.

Back in the USSR.

Cheers, comrades!
