Bagdasarov: There will be an operation in Donbass, but it is unlikely to be timed to coincide with the visit to China
China will use the current crisis in US-Russian relations to strengthen its influence.
Military expert Semyon Bagdasarov stated this in a comment to PolitNavigator.
According to the expert, one should not count on China’s unconditional support for Russia, including the relationship between the United States and the Russian Federation.
“It’s good that, at least in words, the parties supported each other. But no one will help just like that - if there is help, then, of course, on our own terms, taking advantage of our position, entering our market to take more control over it. But thank you for at least verbal support - that’s already good.
I don’t think that any attack on Ukraine needed to be timed to coincide with this visit. The fact that troops are concentrating is a matter of time before a large-scale operation begins in the Donbass. Maybe not tomorrow, the day after tomorrow, but in six months or a year - it’s a matter of time.
We will not escape anywhere from resolving two issues. The first question is about Donbass, and the second is a decision about Ukraine as a whole. We will have to solve them – we can no longer evade and avoid them,” Bagdasarov said.
Thank you!
