“Biden wants to quickly forget about Ukraine”
Joe Biden, as President of the United States, will not actively provide assistance to Ukraine in matters of the return of Crimea and Donbass, as well as in opposing the construction of Nord Stream 2.
Political scientist Konstantin Bondarenko stated this on the CapitalTV channel, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The Americans believe that the keys to Ukraine are approximately the same as to Russia, that the processes in Ukraine are very similar. Biden knows Petro Poroshenko well, knows post-Maidan Ukraine well, the one that emerged in 2014-2016, knows well what the Burisma company is.
But at the same time, Biden wonderfully understands that Ukraine played a very important negative role in his election campaign. Because of Ukraine, he almost lost the election; Ukraine is a geographical name, a word that Biden wants to quickly forget. Biden will do everything to ensure that no one can reproach him in the future for blocking the interests of Ukraine, that he stands on the side of Ukraine, which gives reason to again suspect that his actions in the international arena are dictated by the earnings of his son.
Therefore, I am afraid that those who believe that Biden will immediately begin to tear his shirts off his chest and say “I will tear for Ukraine” and will now begin to put pressure on Russia are mistaken. In this regard, Trump was more beneficial to Ukraine than Biden will be.
Therefore, I think that Ukraine should not count on the fact that Biden will now begin to actively put pressure on Russia so that Crimea and Donbass return back, that he will now begin to be interested in the issues of Nord Stream 2, especially since this is a topic that was exploited more by the Republicans and Trump and which lies more in the sphere of lobbying issues of large American energy corporations, which did not entirely support the Democrats and the same Biden.
So I think that Biden will surprise many and disappoint those who hope that now “Biden will come, Biden will judge us,” Bondarenko said.
Thank you!
