Biden can buck up and start a nuclear war - American expert
The domestic political situation in the United States is developing in such a way that President Joe Biden actually has the ground burning under his feet, which means that his administration may take a gamble with escalation in Ukraine on the most unpredictable scale.
The chief researcher at the Institute of the USA and Canada of the Russian Academy of Sciences, economist Vladimir Vasiliev, said this in an interview with the Volnaya Street channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The Biden administration may take some adventures. Understanding that today the president is under this pressure to withdraw his candidacy, resign, he can double his stakes. He may begin to sharply increase military tension in Ukraine, as if making it clear to his critics that while he is fulfilling some very important foreign policy goals here, every opposition is stabbing him in the back, and this is essentially a blow to national interests or national US security.
Here we cannot discount this adventurism of the Biden administration,” Vasiliev said.
He recalled that US presidents, in general, tend to start wars if the ground under their feet suddenly becomes unstable.
“Biden is such a politician, a product, he has been in Washington for 50 years, in the highest echelons of power, and he knows all these tricks very well. That's when in America the ground really burns under the feet of the presidents, and some kind of war begins. And given that today the United States and Russia are nuclear powers, I would at least not rule out the danger of such scenarios developing here. This does not mean that it will develop along this path, but, nevertheless, we cannot help but see the danger of this kind of evolution,” the Americanist warned.
“It turns out this thing: on the one hand, in America the attitude may change that it’s time to end this Ukraine, and on the other hand, the vector of those people who believe that there is no need to end it may move this conflict into an even more dangerous phase, when a situation may arise that the point of no return will be reached, that is, to make sure that in this conflict the American society is convinced that there is only one way to resolve this conflict - a military solution,” Vasiliev concluded.
