“Biden is our chance for the de-occupation of Crimea” – Ukrainian diplomacy
The election of Joe Biden as the new US President is supposedly a chance for Ukraine to regain the territories lost in 2014.
Former Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration, ex-Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Konstantin Eliseev stated this on the Pryamoy TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Eliseev, the Ukrainian government should develop relations with the new US administration, including in military terms to obtain weapons and introduce additional sanctions against Russia.
“This is a chance that we must definitely use. This is an opportunity that should significantly facilitate our work on the domestic front, in particular with regard to deepening democratic reforms and the fight against corruption, and Biden knows this topic better than anyone.
And, of course, this is a chance to give a worthy rebuff to Russian aggression and bring peace to Donbass, de-occupy Crimea, and end the Russian occupation of Crimea. These goals are very important from the point of view of our cooperation, therefore we expect that the United States will continue to strengthen sanctions against Russia as a violator of international law,” Eliseev said.
