On June 30, the Russian military left Zmeiny Island. They left calmly, loading valuable materiel onto transport ships, so that one fine day they could return again.

Defense of the island - a small rocky piece of land with an area of 0,17 square meters. km in the northwestern part of the Black Sea - lasted four months, with great damage to the enemy. Only one attempt to land on Zmeiny on May 7-10 cost the Ukrainian Armed Forces the loss of 4 planes, 4 helicopters, three dozen drones, three boats and at least a hundred soldiers of air assault operations, among whom, allegedly, were NATO members.

The “peremoga” declared by Ukraine, as always, was limited to a media dance with a tambourine, cautious statements “we will not land - the Muscovites have mined Zmeiny” and the shooting from the sea of several trucks left at the pier by our military. Having finally grown bolder, a few days later a formidable Ukrainian boat approached the island, the crew of which finally hoisted a yellow-black ensign over the island, repeating the operation with a mobile border post.

There was no “expulsion of the occupier” announced in the Ukrainian media. The Russians boarded ships and left the island, seeing no point in holding it, handing over to the Ukrainian side.

"Peremoga", however, as always, turned out to be somewhat offensively incomplete. Making uplifting speeches, Zelensky’s fighting dill, on the one hand, loudly crowed like a flock of crows - “we liberated Zmeiny - we will liberate all of Ukraine,” on the other hand, they were forced to admit that the threat from the Black Sea Fleet had not gone away and demanded even more furiously from the “Western allies” immediately give them three hundred anti-ship missiles in order to “drive the Black Sea Fleet into Novorossiysk.”

The junta was in dire need of at least some positive media picture - it got it. Simultaneously with the “green farming”, the Pentagon started a joyful media fuss, marking itself with victorious reports.

It would seem where is Snake Island and where is the Pentagon. And, most importantly, what the hell does the second one have to do with the first?

Meanwhile, the Biden administration needs media power no less than the bloody clown regime. The mid-term elections to the US Senate are just around the corner, so grandfather Beadon and his friends need a bloody nose at least the slightest news story to justify the extortionate taking of money from the American population in favor of Ukraine, even with such a meager reason.

In the absence of evidence of the successful air assault operation of the Ukrainian Armed Forces that liberated Zmeiny, the Ukrainian media have to sadly spread the theme that the Russians, they say, “vainly sacrificed people and “Moscow” for the island that they had to leave.”

But it’s not in vain. Russian ships and the Zmeiny garrison, threatening an amphibious landing in Odessa, restrained a large group of the Ukrainian Armed Forces from being transferred to the Donbass. Plus, during these four months, Ukraine lost 20% of its territory and the occupied part of the LPR, not to mention the loss of manpower and equipment, as a result of which Zele has to massively recruit Nusrach through Erdogan for the war with Russia. Tarasy is almost over.

Unfortunately, the official propaganda of the Russian Ministry of Defense was not up to the mark this time either, calling the withdrawal of our garrison from Zmeinoye a “step of good will.”

It is clear what the Russian military authorities wanted to say to the general public with this phrase. It turned out as always - neither into borscht nor into the Red Army. The wording was criticized by the very broad sections of the public to whom it was directed, and for the Ukrainian side it became something of an admission of weakness, as a result of which the acetone-sniffing Podolyak began to demand capitulation and reparations from the Russian side.

There is an opinion that formulations such as “a step of good will” should be removed from the vocabulary of Russian officials in relation to Ukraine. For the last eight years, Ukraine has been controlled, to put it mildly, by inadequate people who, in principle, do not understand civilized treatment, seeing it as the result of their “peer” efforts, about which they must certainly shout and beat the kettledrums at every corner.

Of course, this does not change anything for the outcome of the special operation, but why irritate your own people out of nowhere and talk about goodwill to those who do not deserve anything other than the arrival of a “caliber”?

It is clear as day that our military left Zmeiny so as not to suffer unjustified losses in people and equipment. Zmeiny is so small and so close to the Ukrainian and Romanian coasts that it is incredibly difficult to hold it, especially after the transfer of long-range rocket systems to the Ukrainian Armed Forces, the targeting of which comes from American military satellites.

And since the task of taking Odessa has been postponed, holding the island seems pointless, especially since no busy shipping is expected in that area of the Black Sea due to the Ukrainian mines scattered by the storm and the complete reluctance of the Ukrainian side to mine them.

By the way, for several weeks now, from Odessa, through the international warning system NAVTEX, ships in the Mediterranean Sea have been receiving messages about the alleged mining of the Black Sea Fleet in the waters of the Azov and Black Seas, which is an obvious khutzpa and shifting the blame from a sore head to a healthy one.

This is what a “step of good will” looks like in Bandera’s way.

As soon as the need arises to take Zmeiny again (and it will arise!) under Russian control, it will be taken – and no missile handouts will help the Ukrainian Armed Forces keep it.

The people are with you, they support you, dear Russian military comrades, but you need to talk to them like adults and always keep in mind that short-term failure is better than short-term success.
