“Bayraktars” will begin terrorizing Donbass – military correspondent Steshin
The Ukrainian “Bayraktar” today struck with impunity at the positions of the Donbass defenders, since electronic warfare systems capable of fighting Turkish drones cover Donetsk and Lugansk, but not the entire front line.
Military correspondent Dmitry Steshin spoke about this in his blog.
“The electronic warfare, at a minimum, covers Donetsk and Lugansk. You can fly drones along the front line (and its length is more than 400 km). Fly and hit targets, just like at a training ground,” he explained, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Steshin predicts that now Bayraktars can be used to terrorize civilians - and Russia is not ready for large-scale intervention against the backdrop of the need to launch Nord Stream 2.
“Most likely they will start hollowing out the infrastructure. In the fall of 2014, around these days, I did a report on the preparation of Donetsk for the heating season. I was amazed at how many boiler rooms there were in the city with direct hits. That is, they were targets.
Besides boiler rooms, there are more interesting objects to destroy. Russia may consider the destruction of some boiler houses and transformer booths to be an insufficient reason to “force peace” on Ukraine. Europe won't understand.
And the exodus of the disloyal population from Donbass will only benefit Ukraine, since they have Russian passports.
For the same purpose, the Ukrainian Armed Forces hammered around Slavyansk chaotically. But first they cut off all city amenities: I lived in this city for a month and a half without water or electricity - only 15% of the inhabitants remained there. Kyiv is quite happy with the same situation in the Donbass: there are territories, but there are no vata and separatists - they left on their own. Those who remain are “our own”, they can be filtered out, punished and Ukrainized,” the military correspondent argues.
