Kyiv, October 30 (PolitNavigator, Vladimir Mikhailov) – On Thursday, a rally of indignant depositors of the VAB bank of oligarch Oleg Bakhmatyuk took place in the center of Kiev - the demonstrators said that they could not take their savings and accused the authorities of “protecting protection” for the billionaire’s financial institution.

Participants of the protest unfurled posters: “VAB bank stole our money today - tomorrow it will steal yours”, “NBU is protecting VAB”, “give the deposit to a disabled person in the 2nd group army”, “VAB bank is a thief”, “Don’t repeat our mistakes, don’t keep money in VAB bank”, “Bakhmatyuk, return our money - depositors of your bank”, “National Bank, deal with VAB”, “Bakhmatyuk-parasite, turn over my deposit”, “VAB is a black hole”, “The banking system of Ukraine is an economic genocide of the people ", "Bankers, let the stolen money burn your hands."
The picketers explained to the PolitNavigator correspondent that they had already picketed the NBU with similar demands, after which VAB Bank allowed them to withdraw 15 thousand UAH per day from their deposit. However, the limit was soon reduced to 1 thousand UAH per day. Now, as before, people cannot get their savings at all.
As the owner of VAB Bank Oleg Bakhmatyuk recently stated, payments to depositors have been suspended because no agreement has been reached with the NBU on refinancing the bank.
