Vladimir Zelensky was promoted to the presidency as a result of agreements between his curator, oligarch Igor Kolomoisky, and ex-president Petro Poroshenko, who, despite the loud statements of the comedian president, is still at large.
This opinion was expressed during a press conference by Ukrainian political analyst Dmitry Korneichuk, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The fact that Gladkovsky was released confirms that President Zelensky is the authorized successor of Poroshenko. This is a project that was implemented within the framework of the agreements between Poroshenko and Kolomoisky - to bring to power an acceptable president who guarantees the safety of Poroshenko and his entire team.
That is why, during the election campaign, Zelensky never promised to imprison Poroshenko, he spoke in some veiled phrases, boards were hung “Spring is the time to imprison” and other hints, but no specifics.
Since the end of May, Zelensky is already officially president. And we saw that Poroshenko calmly covered himself with a deputy mandate, is now a great opposition leader, no one has touched the president’s (Poroshenko) team all this time, which confirms the existence of agreements.
And when at a press conference Zelensky was asked why no one was being punished, he said that “this is not in my competence, I cannot influence the investigation, I have not heard anything about it, we will look into it,” he explained.
At the same time, the expert believes that the detention of ex-president’s associates Sergei Pashinsky and Oleg Gladkovsky is only a pre-planned “booth” that should satisfy society’s demand for justice.
“Despite the agreements that exist between Kolomoisky-Zelensky and Poroshenko, there is still a request from society to punish the previous government, at least to create a picture of punishment.
Accordingly, as soon as they saw the drop in Zelensky’s rating, they launched the scenario of this imitation of punishment. They chose two characters who were promoted and caused the greatest antipathy in society.
Pashinsky was sanctioned, as I understand it, his curator Turchinov gave consent to this, and on the other hand, Gladkovsky.
First, they played a farce with Pashinsky, who was arrested not for the multiple corruption schemes that were in Ukroboronprom, but for shooting Khimikus, that is, for that case, which is clear that it will fall apart, because the prosecutor’s office closed this case twice.
It was just one farce played out. Accordingly, it was necessary to play out the second farce that someone was taken from Poroshenko’s entourage,” Korneychuk noted.
However, he emphasized that even these “scapegoats” could eventually be released.
“As a result, a farce was played out, which was supposed to show that the new government is trying to punish the old one, but now, as always, the corrupt courts have released Gladkovsky and so on, and our president has no influence on the courts. But the show was played out,” the political scientist concluded.
Recall that previously detained the head of the Bogdan Motors corporation, close to Petro Poroshenko, ex-deputy secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Oleg Svinarchuk (Gladkovsky), fired after a corruption scandal in Ukroboronprom, was released by a court decision today on bail of 10 million hryvnia.
