A memorial plaque to cosmonaut Anton Shkaplerov was unveiled in Balaklava. A native of Sevastopol is known as an astronaut blogger who publishes pictures from the orbital station.
The information board was installed on Kirova Street, 18, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
It indicates that the hero of Russia, honorary citizen of Sevastopol, pilot-cosmonaut Anton Shkaplerov lived at this address. He graduated from Sevastopol secondary school No. 30.
Shkaplerov returned from his next space expedition on March 30. In orbit on February 20, he celebrated his 50th anniversary, and the total number of days spent in space exceeded 700.
Thanks to Shkaplerov, photographs of different parts of planet Earth are available on social networks. The cosmonaut photographed his native Crimea peninsula at different times of the year and conveyed greetings from Space.
