Bandera’s Ukraine will never get Donbass – Kurginyan
The only probable form of coexistence between the LDPR and Ukraine, provided for by the Minsk agreements, is the ability of Donbass to independently decide its own destiny in everything, based on the initial distrust of any initiatives of Kyiv.
The leader of the Essence of Time movement, writer and publicist Sergei Kurginyan stated this on the Rossiya-1 TV channel, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Indeed, both in Lugansk and Donetsk the Minsk agreements were viewed very ambiguously, they were considered insufficient, they were considered a concession to Ukraine. Now time puts everything in its place and it becomes completely clear that this is a diplomatic issue, which one way or another raises the question of changing the structure of the Ukrainian state and the vector of Ukrainian ideology, because the Minsk agreements are very deep in this regard. This is not just about somehow calming everything down.
The main position is simple: neither Lugansk nor Donetsk will ever believe any guarantees that Ukraine can give. The only guarantee that Donetsk and Lugansk have is the presence of their capabilities at any time to interrupt any new Ukrainian madness, instantly preventing it,” Kurginyan said.
“If you want to get something from Donetsk and Lugansk, give it in full - they chose, it will be - political power, security forces, their control over borders and their ability to decide their destiny in everything that concerns language and the structure of life. When they understand that technically they won’t be able to approach them, then maybe they will begin to restore relations,” the publicist added.
At the same time, he noted that such relationships are impossible with today’s Ukraine.
“In this Ukrainian state, in this form of Ukrainian identity, there is no place for the DPR and LPR. Today's Kyiv essentially defines Bandera's formula of identity with the throwing out of the Soviet period, with the throwing out of the Russian period. There's only so much left of this identity when it's all thrown away. They define a state that will move towards this identity, that is, forcefully drive everyone else into it - well, there will be no place for the DPR and LPR! Do you want this identity, do you want this state formula? Separate everything that does not obey this, because force will not work,” Kurginyan emphasized.
