Bandera's cry with a Georgian accent

A PolitNavigator columnist from Tbilisi talks about why the video that caused euphoria in Ukraine with words of support for the “Georgian intelligentsia” is a very dubious help, even in moral terms, since the heroes are outright ideological shifters, opportunists and traitors.

In Ukraine they are rejoicing - representatives of the Georgian intelligentsia, supporting Kyiv “in the face of the aggression of Putin’s Russia,” recorded a heartfelt appeal, performed in Ukrainian language with a pleasant Georgian accent. It was prepared and thrown into the information space by the Georgian liberal establishment, so generously supported by rich Western foundations.

The liberal elite supported by the West is not only present, but also noticeably prevails in the sphere of culture and art. And all these gentlemen together are widely represented in the Georgian media and lead an aggressive information line, brainwashing.

Naturally, they also brainwash about the latest Russian-Ukrainian confrontation, taking an unambiguous pro-Ukrainian position. That is why we can consider that a video with such content is even a little late, given the capabilities and aggressive attitude of the above-mentioned public.

The honorary role of opening the appeal was given to Vakhtang Kikabidze. In Georgia, he has long become the face of the liberal socio-political wing. At the last elections, he even topped the list of the United National Movement party (Saakashvili’s party) and was elected as a member of the Georgian parliament.

Of course, it was difficult to believe the readiness of the actor who created the legendary image of the friendly “Mimino” to take up arms in a fratricidal conflict. But in October 2014, in an interview with the Ukrainian newspaper Segodnya, Kikabidze said that “if I were young, I would also be in the ATO now and resist, defending the honor of the country.” The fact of his participation in the civil confrontation in Tbilisi in the early 90s with a machine gun in his hands speaks of his different nature - the nature of a person not from the world of art. The whole of Tbilisi was talking about Buba shooting at his compatriots.

Kikabidze disappointed millions of fans throughout the former USSR, throwing mud at the Soviet country. It's like cursing the parent who created you! He is proud that he was never a member of the Komsomol, and was expelled from the pioneers for shining his shoes with his pioneer tie. In June 2018, in an interview with the German publication “Deutsche Welle“Kikabidze said that in 1991 he was happy about the collapse of the USSR and in honor of this event “he even set the table.” And this is said by the son of Konstantin Nikolaevich Kikabidze, a Red Army soldier who died near Kerch in December 1942.

It is not surprising that an ardent anti-Soviet and anti-communist will now show off in front of the Bandera monument.

Another person featured in the video, the famous singer Nino Katamadze, made a statement back in June 2019 in which she refused further concerts in Russia, called Russia an “occupier,” Vladimir Putin “an enemy of Georgia,” also noting that she “never sang in Russians." I wonder what prevented Katamadze from making money from Russian listeners until 2019? If she is so principled, why didn’t she stage a demarche in 2008 or at least in 2014?

And the former President of Georgia, Doctor of Philosophy Margvelashvili, literally became a “kinder surprise” of Georgian politics in 2013. Then “Georgian Dream” nominated this extremely unpopular “philosopher” as its candidate in the elections, literally pulling him out of the mud into big politics. And almost immediately after the inauguration, Margvelashvili turned his back on “Dream” and went over to the opposition camp.

What can we say about the lesser-known “faces” of the video? About these “chefs”, “basketball players”, “civic activists”, “screenwriters” and “teachers”? All of them, without exception, represent the aforementioned liberal camarilla, hopelessly poisoned by Russophobia and hostility towards everything Russian!

But the main thing you need to know is that the overwhelming majority of the Georgian population does not approve of such provocative and one-sided “products,” as can be seen from the reaction specifically to this video clip and the Bandera cry “Glory to the Heroes” heard in it!
