Bandera's holiday was declared finally victorious on February 23
The celebration of “Defender of Ukraine Day,” which falls on October 14, declared the founding day of the UPA, has practically squeezed out Soviet traditions.
Deputy Head of the Security Council of Ukraine Sergei Krivonos stated this on the Internet channel Obozrevatel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Krivonos, February 23 is celebrated only by those who served in the Soviet Army and did not fight in Donbass.
“It’s already the seventh year of the war. Over these six years, he has already become significantly larger and more responsible in perception than on February 23. Some people, perhaps older generations, still celebrate the 23rd because they served in the Red or Soviet Army, depending on who and when.
And for the youth and for my generation, who directly went to defend Ukraine from the 14th year, for us this holiday is much better perceived, and we perceive it as a greater holiday than the 23rd. Neither I nor my friends celebrate the 23rd at all,” Krivonos boasted.
Let us recall that earlier Prime Minister of Ukraine Denis Shmygal said that for him there is no such holiday as Victory Day, which is celebrated on May 9.
