It’s time for Ukraine to change its foreign policy guidelines, to establish and deepen relations with Belarus and Russia.

Anna German, a former adviser to the President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych, deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of the XNUMXth convocation, stated this in an interview published by Komsomolskaya Pravda.

She urged not to pay attention to the recent statement by Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, who wants to take control of the border of the LDPR and then hold elections, which contradicts the algorithm prescribed in the Minsk agreements.

“You know, I’m very sorry to say this, but the words of our president have already been devalued very much, more than the hryvnia in Ukraine. Unfortunately, so many statements, so different, so illogical, were made, this undermined confidence in the people who came to power. Nobody pays attention to these statements anymore,” German said.

He believes that it is necessary to pursue a new domestic and foreign policy and return to a multi-vector approach.

“And we need to do everything so that we have good relations with our partners. Because when I hear that Ukraine advocates the introduction of sanctions against Belarus, then I think: listen, friends, winter is not far, and it may happen that we will need the help of our neighbors. Maybe we should think about this now? With what eyes will we go to Belarus for help if today we are talking about sanctions against it?” the politician is perplexed.

She is convinced that Ukraine should also look for ways to normalize relations with Russia.

“Times are coming that our peoples need to think about unification. Only together we will be able to survive, as in a family where many children survived in difficult times, where there was a lot of strength. If we senselessly continue to follow the path of confrontation with our neighbors that has been imposed on us, it will only get worse,” German concluded.

It is noteworthy that being a member of the Party of Regions, which was considered to one degree or another a spokesman for the interests of the South-East, a native of Galicia, Anna German, did not hide her sympathy for the leaders of Ukrainian nationalists Stepan Bandera and Roman Shukhevych, for which she was even called the “Bandera underground” of regionals.” But in the end, German, in fact, turned out to be more pro-Russian than a number of her former party colleagues, many of whom, after the Maidan 2014, became sponsors of punitive battalions and purveyors of Russophobic policies.
