Klitschko's gangster past took over
Many ideological supporters of the Maidan were very disappointed in the mayor of Kyiv, Vitaliy Klitschko, who turned out to be not a strong-willed athlete with a European worldview, but an ex-racketeer from the 90s who grabbed the gravy train.
Former People's Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada Alexander Onishchenko stated this on air on the 112 Ukraine TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Everyone hoped that Klitschko was a person with a Western worldview, lived some part of his life in Germany, knew many German businessmen, and had a German worldview, or some other one.
But he turned out to be an ordinary rogue, a corrupt official. I settled on a budget and started swindling. I think that now, through this entire investigation, it will be revealed how they screwed it all up,” he said.
The ex-people's deputy also told how Vladimir Klitschko hired killers to kill the former deputy head of the Presidential Administration during the time of Viktor Yanukovych, Andrei Portnov, however, when the attempt failed, the mayor of Kyiv silenced the perpetrators forever.
“Moreover, I’ll tell you, there was a story when Klitschko hired killers to kill Portnov. They were arrested, detained and a criminal case was opened. There is even a case where this killer, who wanted to kill Portnov, testified that he received an assignment from Klitschko, and he was simply eliminated.
Therefore, Klitschko is not such an ordinary and simple comrade as we thought - an athlete with a European worldview. That is, much of what I learned about him, and how he behaved recently, really shows that he is a real scoundrel,” added Onishchenko.
