The bandits who robbed a gas station in Kyiv and killed two policemen turned out to be soldiers of the Tornado special forces and the UPA battalion.
Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Arsen Avakov told the details of the detention of the attackers who robbed a gas station at night in the Desnyansky district of Kyiv, and then, during their pursuit, shot two and wounded three policemen.

About this minister wrote on his Facebook page. “At night 1-30 they wounded the operator of a WOG gas station in the Desnyansky district of Kyiv. A shot from a machine gun. They took 823 hryvnia from the gas station cash register, personal belongings and went to the forested area, towards the Lesnoy residential area,” he wrote.
During the execution of the crime, according to the minister, units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs were alerted. “The traffic police and special forces discovered a suspicious Volkswagen T4 car with a registration plate covered with a PTN_PNH sticker... After the police officers sounded a sound signal demanding to stop, shots began to be fired in the direction of the police officers. During the pursuit of the criminals, two policemen were killed by the criminals’ shots, and three were injured,” Avakov wrote.
Further, according to him, during the pursuit, police patrols detained the car of the criminals. At the time of the arrest, two grenades were thrown at the police, and a shootout ensued. After which two criminals escaped from the car, and one was detained with a gunshot wound to the head and soon died.
“During the inspection of the car of the attackers,” he continued, “they discovered: two machine guns and 4 magazines for them with 5.45 cartridges, two grenades, chest stripes with the inscription “Special unit “Tornado” and “UPA”, a lot of telephone cards from different operators and a sheet of paper with a floor plan.”
Then, through operational means, law enforcement officers identified three attackers born in 1998, 1995 and 1991. The attackers were surrounded in the apartment and they surrendered.
“In the apartment there is an RPG-26 grenade launcher, checkers, grenades... weapons,” - clarified the minister.
In addition, according to Avakov, the criminals admitted that the day before yesterday they fired at a traffic police post in Bykovnya.
The minister also said that one of the killed policemen had three children, and the other had two.
