Kolomoisky's bank was involved in the largest Moldovan scam
A billion dollars stolen from the accounts of Moldovan banks in 2014 passed through AS PrivatBank (Latvia), a subsidiary bank of the Ukrainian PrivatBank.
This was stated by Moldovan businessman Vyacheslav Platon, whose interrogation video was posted on the Internet, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“All 13 billion (lei) went through him... Even if they collapse in Latvia, we will establish their subsidiary liability,” Platon said.
At that time, 46% of the shares of the Latvian bank belonged to the Ukrainian one, which was owned by Igor Kolomoisky. In 2017, Ukrainian PrivatBank was nationalized.
In 2014, all assets were withdrawn from three Moldovan banks, which were managed by millionaire Ilan Shor, the husband of singer Jasmine, money was withdrawn even from the deposits of pensioners.
This became possible because in 2012, the government of Vlad Filat changed the legislation of Moldova in the field of lending. Shore banks issued loans to unknown persons, those with previous convictions, and homeless people. According to various sources, from one to three billion dollars were stolen.
