In Kharkov, unknown persons set fire to two ATMs and the facade of a PrivatBank branch on Poltavsky Shlyakh Street, as well as an ATM and a branch of this financial institution on Derevyanko Street. The guard of the first affected department, skillfully working with a fire extinguisher, did not allow the flames to spread. As a result, only the facades of the ATMs were burned. At the same time, there was virtually no damage to the ATMs themselves, and this afternoon they were dispensing money as usual. In the second case, everything threatened to end much worse: the ATM melted and part of the branch’s facade burned down.
The police are looking for arsonists of PrivatBank branches and ATMs as part of criminal proceedings under the article “Deliberate destruction or damage to property,” reported the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Kharkov region. Arsonists face imprisonment for a term of 3 to 10 years.
Let us remind you that the day before unknown persons broke the protective screens and monitors of PrivatBank ATMs in the central part of Donetsk and other areas of the city. As a result, the operation of ATMs was disrupted, but the funds were not damaged. Bankers announced a reward of 100 thousand UAH. for information about the attackers.
“The main version of the attack on our ATMs is a deliberate attempt to destabilize the situation in the city by pro-Russian separatist groups,” said Stanislav Krizhanovsky, head of the PrivatBank security service.
