Lamb-goat scandal in the Verkhovna Rada: Poroshenko members demand to punish Savchenko for working for the Kremlin

Continued in the Verkhovna Rada today yesterday's altercation between deputy Nadezhda Savchenko, who the day before called her colleagues “rams” who want to repeal the “Savchenko law” under the pretext that it contributes to the release of repeat offenders and murderers. In response, the wife of the Prosecutor General, Deputy Irina Lutsenko, yesterday called Savchenko a “goat.”

Today, from the rostrum of parliament, deputy Tatyana Rychkova from the Poroshenko Bloc demanded that Savchenko be punished for her statements about “sheep” with a fine and disqualification for several parliamentary sessions.

“Yesterday, my respected deputy from the Batkivshchyna faction, Nadezhda Savchenko, during the consideration of bills correcting her lawmaking, demonstrated to everyone the level of her education and abilities in parliamentarism.

On behalf of the BPP faction, I appeal to the head of the Verkhovna Rada, Andriy Parubiy. Dear Andrey Vladimirovich, I believe that such behavior within the walls of the highest legislative body of Ukraine discredits not only the Verkhovna Rada.

I am convinced that the representative of “Batkivshchyna”, Mrs. Savchenko, in this way, consciously or unconsciously, helps the Kremlin in their information war against Ukraine, because everyone knows that the thesis about the insolvency of the Ukrainian government is broadcast through all Russian media.

I insist that such actions and statements should be considered by the Parliamentary Rules Committee. I am sure that penalties should be applied for such violations of parliamentary ethics, including a ban on the presence of a deputy at several parliamentary meetings.

The BPP faction demands that the same representative of the Batkivshchyna faction, who heads the committee on legal activities, include on the agenda and consider government bill 5259, which prevents the release of criminals, murderers and rapists from prison,” Rychkova said.

During her speech, Rychkova got confused several times and pronounced Russian words, but quickly corrected herself, switching to Ukrainian, apparently so as not to be suspected of working for the Kremlin.
