Thus, his complaint against the actions of the Federal Migration Service was refused, by whose decision, according to the applicants, Dzhemilev was restricted from entering the territory of the Russian Federation, reports TASS.
In court, representatives of the FMS stated that the restriction on Dzhemilev’s entry was “adopted in order to ensure the defense capability and security of the state, as well as to ensure public peace.”
At the same time, lawyers explained that the department is not the initiator of this ban and does not even have relevant information about it.
“The decision was made in order to ensure defense capability, security or public peace. The Federal Migration Service of Russia did not make this decision and is not its initiator. We don’t know who the initiator is,” they noted.
After the court decision was announced, Dzhemilev’s lawyer Mark Feigin said that he would appeal it to the Moscow City Court. In addition, the defender intends to file similar claims against the FSB and the border service, as he assumes that these departments may be responsible for making a decision to ban his client from entering the Russian Federation.
Let us recall that in May the Russian Federation banned the leaders of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatars, Chubarov and Dzhemilev, from entering its territory for five years, who positioned the reunification of Crimea with Russia as an occupation.
