Basurin explained to the command of the Ukrainian Armed Forces how to avoid casualties among Ukrainian military personnel
The Ukrainian government and military should try to look into the eyes of those people in Donbass at whom they are shooting, but in the meantime, the defenders of the republic will give an adequate response to any fire from the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Official representative of the People's Militia of the DPR Eduard Basurin stated this via video link from Donetsk on the Rossiya 1 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Now they showed Aleksandrovka, this is a feature of Donetsk. There is even a nuance: a mine has “formed”, it seems two civilians injured, and if a mine had landed 7 meters into this house, our woman and three children would have been killed. Where it exploded in the greenhouse, five people would have died, literally the same thing - if a mine had flown 5-7 meters in the other direction.
The shelling was as it was. Artillery, prohibited by the Minsk agreements, is used by the 122nd, mortars by the 120th, 82nd, and 60th are used. If in a week what fell in our country, I’m not talking about Lugansk, 55 shells, 320 mines, 9 destructions. We must react to what is happening and destroy the firing points from which they are shooting and our people are suffering. During this time, two Ukrainian soldiers were killed and eight were injured.
“I would like to appeal to the Ukrainian side: think twice before you shoot at us, because we are forced to protect our people, and we will adequately respond to all threats against our population,” Basurin said.
“People do not respond to all statements from the Ukrainian side (about the need to withdraw from the Minsk agreements - ed.) Life goes on. There is not such a big reaction as, say, in 2015, when people gathered and contacted the OSCE mission with a demand to stop the shooting. Now there is no such thing. Planned life is going on, people are receiving Russian citizenship,” said a DPR representative.
“I would really like for either the Ukrainian government or the Ukrainian military to come and look into the eyes of the people they are shooting at. I talked to these wounded yesterday - on the one hand they have optimism, but on the other - well, it’s still scary.
The woman was injured because she tried to hide her livestock, which helps her survive during this difficult time. The same greenhouse: the harvest began to ripen, the children asked to pick something, the owner told me, they said: let’s wait a few days, there will be a better product - now there is nothing of that at all. And this is the worst thing. And the Ukrainian military does not want to look into the eyes of the victims they are shooting at,” Basurin emphasized.
“And they lie that you are also shelling peaceful cities and villages, but there is not a single shot,” noted TV presenter Evgeniy Popov. “We have now seen the shelling of the DPR, everything is clear there, people are talking about it, but on the Ukrainian side there is not a single frame of destroyed peaceful buildings.”
“I would like to add that we are responding with adequate actions on our part. If no one shoots at us, there will be no dead or wounded on the Ukrainian side. Let them pay attention to this,” concluded Eduard Basurin.
