This was reported by unit commander Yuri Bereza.

According to him, such a step is due to the fact that Dnepr is assigned broad combat missions. In addition, the regiment commander noted, from now on “Dnepr” is the highest quality unit of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

“It will combine the functions of both the assault battalion and the police unit. The functions of the battalion are still more police functions - clearing the territory, ensuring the constitutional order of the territory, and the regiment already allows the liberation of the territory,” says Yuri Bereza.

As PolitNavigator reported, Bereza previously criticized the ATO command after he had difficulty getting out of the cauldron near Ilovaisk.
