“The command of the volunteer battalion is negotiating with the leadership of the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and the SBU on the creation of a special-purpose battalion on the basis of one of the Donbas combat units. The creation of such a unit, which will receive heavy weapons, official status and a modern structure, will solve the problem of reliable cover of the state border, the destruction of mobile terrorist groups, and will allow it to carry out reconnaissance and counter-sabotage tasks,” he wrote.
In addition, Semenchenko said the battalion is carrying out “active work to stabilize the situation in 4 districts of the Donetsk region under its control.”
“During the presidential elections in Ukraine, the security of the electoral process was ensured. The elections took place without violations. Combat units of the Donbass battalion also operated in Donetsk and Mariupol today. There are no casualties among personnel,” he emphasized.
