OUN battalion: “We do not obey anyone!”
The volunteer battalion of the Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists refused to become subordinate to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Battalion commander Nikolai Kokhanovsky spoke about this in a telephone interview with TV channel “112”, reports zaxid.net.
– Now we do not obey anyone. We made this decision taking into account the fact that we were rudely disarmed and withdrawn, violating all the agreements that we had with the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Plus, we didn’t see a scheme according to which we should remain a separate unit, and I, as commander, should have remained the commander of this unit,” Kokhanovsky said.
According to the OUN battalion commander, the battalion legalization scheme that the Ukrainian Armed Forces officers promised them did not work from the very beginning:
– For example, they told us: go to Krasnoarmeysk, everything is ready there, go through the commission and return to your positions - this way you will be gradually legalized without being removed from your positions. Of course, our boys went to Krasnoarmeysk, but no one was waiting for them there, and they took us away from our positions almost by force. Therefore, we made a decision, if the state does not need volunteers, and it does this to the fighters who protect it, then we do not want - for now we definitely do not want - to be legalized as a separate unit in this state. And in practice, the state doesn’t want to legalize us - so why are we going to kill ourselves like this,” said OUNovets.
