The “Prykarpattya” battalion, which escaped from shelling in the ATO zone, was made the last in the “Ilovaisk cauldron”

“They committed a crime because they became the root cause of the massive domino effect in the Ilovaisk area,” Matios said. On the eve of the events in Ilovaisk, the battalion was stationed near Amvrosievka.
“They served and served and did what they did - they left their place of duty, exposed their flank and drove across all of Ukraine with standard weapons on school buses,” the military prosecutor noted.
According to him, the battalion soldiers failed to comply with command orders three times. After the first shelling, for which the battalion was not prepared, because they hoped that they would not be fired at from Russia 40 km away, “they simply took off and left.” After that, they twice ignored the order to return, hand over their weapons and go home centrally.
“Perhaps I am speaking too emotionally. But the local authorities of the Ivano-Frankivsk region make heroes out of them. I don’t want to say that everyone there is deserters, there is always a guide and there are always those following the guide,” said Matios.
In particular, he placed responsibility on the military commissar.
At the same time, the Ministry of Internal Affairs did not explain why the battalion was able to leave the ATO zone.
As PolitNavigator reported, at the end of August, ATO forces were surrounded near Ilovaisk. Volunteer battalions repeatedly asked the command for reinforcements. However, according to the fighters, the necessary help never arrived. Ukrainian military personnel suffered significant losses. There is still no official data on the dead, wounded and captured Ukrainian soldiers.
During the work of the temporary investigative commission of the Verkhovna Rada on this issue мDefense Minister Valery Geletey threw the deputies into hysterics.
