This was stated by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, quoted by Radio Liberty.
“We continue to make efforts for a more constructive relationship with Russia. For NATO, there is no contradiction between a strong defense, a predictable response to the rise of Russia and continuing to work on dialogue and de-escalation to achieve a more constructive relationship with Russia,” Stoltenberg said.
Let us recall that on October 26-27, NATO defense ministers gathered for a meeting at NATO headquarters, where they will discuss the work of four battalions, which from the new year will be deployed in countries located on the borders with Russia, and which will be led, respectively, by Canada, Germany, UK and USA. In particular, the heads of defense departments will analyze how to strengthen their presence in the Black Sea basin and ways to combat cyber threats.
