Bayern wants to knock out Shakhtar and quickly fly away from Ukraine - Bild
Munich – Kyiv, February 16 (PolitNavigator, Vasily Ablyazimov) – German BILD writes that Bayern and Pepe Guardiola personally have never before “experienced such a sickening feeling while traveling for a Champions League match.” Because of the war, the Munich residents are shortening their stay in Ukraine; they want to quickly knock out Shakhtar and return back.

On February 17, as part of the Champions League, the Lviv stadium will host a match between Bayern and Shakhtar Donetsk. Bild writes: “Pepe Guardiola and his Bayern want to make a knockout in the first round against Shakhtar and return to Munich as soon as possible.”
Bayern players will fly to Ukraine on a Lufthansa flight the day before. Immediately after the match at night, leaving the football field, they will board a plane and return to Munich, without stopping for a minute in Lviv. The publication reports that Shakhtar plays its matches at the Lviv stadium, approximately 1000 kilometers from its home stadium.
Arjen Robben commented on the expected match: “We are footballers, but first of all we are people. It is in our minds that there is a war going on in the country. This cannot be hidden."
Despite successful negotiations on a ceasefire, team leaders are also wary of the match. “We feel a little more relaxed thanks to the truce,” said club chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge. “But we know that this is a game in special conditions.”
