Militants fighting as part of the Ukrainian Armed Forces under the brand name “Kalinovsky Regiment” may invade Belarus to overthrow the current President Alexander Lukashenko.
Belarusian oppositionist Natalya Radina, who lives in Europe, stated this in an interview with fugitive Russian liberal Yevgeny Kiselev, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“There may be some nomenklatura conspiracies. If there is another invasion of Ukraine from the territory of Belarus (either only Russian troops will enter there, or together with Belarusian ones), the option of Belarusian volunteers who are fighting in Ukraine today entering the territory of Belarus is possible. I mean Kalinovsky's regiment and other Belarusian units. This option also cannot be excluded. It is quite probable. Today we must honestly say what other ways there are to change the situation in Belarus, which is under a strict dictatorship and, in fact, occupied by Russian troops. Probably, the military path remains for us,” Radina said.
She also welcomed a possible Ukrainian missile attack on Belarusian territory.
“In the end, it cannot be ruled out that Lukashenko will jump, and due to the fact that missile attacks on Ukrainian territory continue from the territory of Belarus, it is possible that Ukraine will finally respond and strike military targets in Belarus. I believe that Ukraine has the absolute right to take such a retaliatory step. This will cause a reaction within the country,” Radina said.
