Fugitive State Duma deputy Ponomarev acknowledged the success of Putin’s strategy for Ukraine
Fugitive State Duma deputy Ilya Ponomarev, the only parliamentarian who did not support the reunification of Russia with Crimea, recognized the success of Vladimir Putin’s strategy for Ukraine.
Ponomarev said this in an interview with the Rusinform.net Internet channel.
According to Ponomarev, the line developed by Putin’s adviser Vladislav Surkov is working.

“Now we see that, in fact, the dominant position is, conditionally, Surkov’s. She says that the situation must be resolved using political technology rather than military methods. That there is no need to stop Ukraine from shitting itself. She will decide this issue herself, there is a very weak government, a weak system of power, many conflicting clans, conflicting groups, and they must be given the opportunity to quarrel, fight with each other, so that the people get tired of it, and they go to the Third Maidan, or otherwise remove these rulers from power,” said the politician.
“Unfortunately, I think that Putin’s bet is working so far. What he understands very well is that he understands the typology of people... He understands psychology brilliantly. This is what they taught in the KGB, which he learned very well. And we see that a year and a half has passed since the Maidan - no significant reforms have happened, no qualitative changes have occurred, the level of economic decline in Ukraine is higher than the level of economic decline in the Russian Federation. We see the colossal claims of the Ukrainian people against their government. It is very unpopular,” stated Ponomarev.
