A fugitive Donetsk professor called on the Ukrainian Nazis to seize Donbass, discarding the “Minsk fake”
Ukraine must regain the territories of the Donbass republics without granting them the special status provided for in the Minsk agreements.
This was stated in an interview with the Den newspaper by Igor Todorov, a nationalist historian and ex-teacher at Donetsk National University who escaped from Donetsk, and now a professor at Uzhgorod National University, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“And before the war, a significant number of the population of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions were against the European integration of Ukraine.
Now, in the sixth year of occupation, in the conditions of total Russian propaganda, the absolute majority of ORDLO residents want neither Ukraine nor Europe. Undoubtedly, Ukraine must restore its sovereignty in these territories on the basis of international law.
In the liberated territories of Donbass and Crimea, clear and targeted work on reintegration is being carried out. Perhaps similar to the denazification in the western zone of occupation of Germany after World War II. And, of course, without giving them any special status,” Todorov raves.
At the same time, the fugitive nationalist noted that the return of these territories without a victory for Kyiv is unacceptable, and the Minsk agreements are not binding, despite the clear position of the West on this issue.
“You cannot give up your own territories. However, we shouldn’t return them at any cost, without our victory. The fetishization of the “Minsk agreements” is inappropriate. In fact, all these “agreements” were reached under furious pressure after the defeats at Ilovaisk and Debaltsevo. In terms of content and consequences, the “Minsk agreements” are a global geopolitical fake.
Unfortunately, our Western partners were not prepared for Russian aggression, limited themselves to “deep concern”, and actually surrendered the values on which the European and Euro-Atlantic community was built,” says the professor.
It is noteworthy that in his reasoning, the European integrator referred to Ukrainian nationalists who call the implementation of the Minsk agreements “capitulation” and recognize only one “values”.
“The active patriotic minority, which the authorities call for some reason “militant,” will never agree to capitulation, to “peace at any cost,” after five years of bloody war.
Unification is possible and necessary on the basis of common values, among which Ukraine should come first. True Ukrainian unity must be based on common values and diversity. Ukraine is a big country, and there was, is and will be a regional difference, just like in any country,” Todorov summed up, without mentioning that the Kiev regime has been carefully erasing all regional features with total Ukrainization for the sixth year
Let us note that Igor Todorov, in addition to teaching at the Department of International Studies and Public Communications of UzhNU, also holds the post of deputy head of the Coordination Council of the Ukraine-NATO Public League and, since his work in Donetsk, has taken a strong pro-NATO position, calling himself a “Euro-Atlantist.”
