The fugitive Crimean “Svidomo” laments: Maidan activists turned out to be such slow-witted people!
Ukraine had not controlled Crimea for more than a week in 2014, and Kyiv politicians continued to think that the Crimeans would “go crazy” and made incomprehensible statements. Former Crimean Maidan journalist Alexander Yankovsky said this on Radio Hayat, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to him, in post-Maidan Kyiv they did not understand what was really happening in Crimea and did nothing to counterbalance it.

“I spoke with Kyiv politicians, with Euromaidan participants, with the military - no one understood what was really happening. They said: “Well, what troops.” On March 8th or 9th, a call from the UDAR party appears that Ukrainian border guards must immediately stop the movement of Russian troops through the Kerch Strait. And at that time there had been no Ukrainian border guards for more than a week. Ukraine no longer controlled anything. In Kyiv, people had the impression that there was some kind of “bag-bagism” again, that people were playing at something, wanted to bargain for their preferences, and so on,” laments Yankovsky.
